New York State Environmental Facilities on behalf of Gov. Kathy Hochul, just announced that the Town of Thompson has been awarded a Water Infrastructure Improvement (WIIA) grant award totaling $805,003. This will fund up to 25 percent of the eligible costs to upgrade and re-build the Rock Hill-Emerald Green Pump Stations numbered 1,2 &3. These pump stations service the eastern end of the Emerald Green development and all of the Lake Louise Marie development in Rock Hill.
Thompson is in the process of upgrading sewer and water infrastructure in 5 Districts at a total estimated cost of $65.4 M. As of this date we have secured up to $43.7 M in grants and $27.9 M in zero and low interest financing for these improvements. The Town of Thompson has aggressively sought and been awarded grants from many sources to make these much-needed improvements affordable to our community. Thompson was one of only seven awardees in Sullivan and Orange Counties.
