Town Clerk
The Town Clerk is the record keeper of the town. The Town Clerk is responsible for the Town Board minutes and records of each of the departments for the town. The Town Clerk also issues licenses and permits.
Some of the licenses and permits issued through the Town Clerk’s Office are:
- Marriage Licenses – $40.00 license fee
- Birth Certificates – $10.00 per copy
- Death Certificates – $10.00 per copy
- Marriage Certificates – $10.00 per copy
- Handicapped/Disability Permits – No cost for issuance
- Freedom of Information Requests – .25 cents per standard copy up to 8 1/2″X14″
- Conservation Licenses – Cost varies, please contact office
- Dog Licenses – $8.00 spay/neuter & $16.00 not spayed/not neuter
- Sanitation Licenses – $100.00 application fee & $100.00 per vehicle
- Towing Licenses – $100.00 per vehicle
- Genealogical Records/Certificates – $22.00 per copy
Minutes are available on online two weeks after date of meeting.
All requests submitted by mail for certified or genealogy copies for birth, death and marriage records require photo identification, payment in the form of a money-order made payable to Town of Thompson and a self-addressed stamped return envelope. Requests in person will require photo identification and payment in the form of cash or money-order.
