The Town of Thompson is sponsoring its biannual shred day on Saturday September 26th in the parking lot of the Town of Thompson Town Hall (near Home Depot). This day is an opportunity for individuals and businesses to securely dispose of documents containing sensitive and personal information.
This a free service for Town of Thompson individuals and businesses. However, there is a limit for each individual and business of 2 large (legal size) boxes, of documents that they would like destroyed through a secure shredding process. Please respect the 2-box limit.
Properly shredding documents is essential in protecting both personal and business information.
“The Town of Thompson Shred Day is the perfect opportunity to clean out your home or office and securely dispose of your personal papers. This free event not only gives our town residents the chance to protect themselves against identity theft and fraud, but also encourages people to recycle instead of throw away these documents. We are pleased to offer this benefit at little cost to the taxpayers thanks to the generosity of Councilmen Scott Mace and John Pavese. Members of your Town Board will be there to assist you,” said Town of Thompson Supervisor Bill Rieber.
Each year, the Town of Thompson typically holds another Shred Day in April or May. This was postponed in the spring of 2020 due to COVID-19.
