Two events in October are making it easy, free, and fast for Town of Thompson residents to dispose of items that shouldn’t go in your regular garbage!
Shred Day is Saturday, October 14th | Bring 2 Boxes for Secure & Free Shredding
Shred Day takes place in the parking lot of the Town of Thompson Town Hall (near Home Depot). Shred Day is free for Town of Thompson individuals. There is a limit for each person or business of 2 large (legal size) boxes. These boxes should contain documents that you would like destroyed through a secure shredding process. The Town asks that you please respect the 2-box limit. Without shredding and carefully disposing of documents, identity thieves may target you. They often sift through trash or recycling bins seeking out documents that have not been shredded.
Fall Cleanup Extended Through October 31st | Get Your Free $20 Voucher at Thompson Town Hall
Thompson residents are entitled to a FREE voucher, good for up to $20 in disposal fees of accepted items at the Sullivan County Transfer Station in Monticello. The voucher must be picked up during regular business hours at the Town Hall, 4052 Route 42 in Monticello. The voucher can then be brought, along with your items to be disposed of, to the transfer station during hours they are open, except on Saturdays. See the list of acceptable items you can bring, here.
Free Sullivan County Hazardous Waste Collection Day is October 15th
