Dog Control

The Dog Control Officer is responsible for enforcing dog control laws in the town. The Dog Control Officer will seize stray dogs and undertake the annual enumeration of the dog population.

Dog Licenses: Beginning at the age of four months all dogs in the town must be licensed.  Licenses can be obtained at the Town Clerk Office and must be renewed annually.  Fees for a non-spayed or neutered dog is $16.00 and $8.00 if the dog is spayed or neutered. A certificate of rabies vaccine is required when the license is issued.

Rabies vaccinations can be obtained by a licensed veterinarian. Sullivan County Public Health Services offers rabies clinics during the year. Contact them about any upcoming Rabies Clinic at 845.292.5910.
